Everything we’ve officially reported lives here, filed as neatly as the universe allows, and updated as new progress reports are released. If you’re the sort of being who enjoys watching a convention come together in real time (or just wants to know what’s changed since last week), you can safely keep this page bookmarked, consult it regularly, and remember the most important rule of all:

BayCon 42 Progress Report #1
Progress Report 1 (Jan 6, 2026) covers early BayCon 42 planning highlights, including Guests of Honor/Poet-in-Residence announcements, hotel/dates and reservations, and initial notes on programming growth (STEM, fanzines, furry community support, queer-focused mental health, and Hospitality planning). It also includes updates on returning features like the AfroFuturism Lounge, plus calls to participate (panel submissions and a themed short story contest) and staff/Westercon site-selection information for reference. Locus Magazine joins BayCon 42 as a sponsor, spSF reaches its Clarion West scholarship funding goal, BayCon badge pricing and spSF membership options, the Call for Bids for BayCon 2027/2028, the full Westercon Bylaws as amended at Westercon 77, and a street team events calendar through May 2026.
