BayCon 2021 Zoom Mini-Con #3 November 7th

Hello, member, guests, and staff!

Thanks for hanging with us through the ups and downs of this tumultuous year. As you’re already aware, we’ve rescheduled BayCon to 2021 and will not be having a physical con this year. However, that doesn’t mean we have been sitting on our hands. You know the programming ninjas have been hard at work ….

So without further ado, it’s time to announce that BayCon 2021 is hosting its 3rd virtual mini-con of the year, happening Saturday, November 7th on Zoom! Guests of Honor Cory Doctorow and Galen Dara are joining us again along with several other guests and BayCon regulars. Get ready for some great programming, including music, readings, and panels. You won’t want to miss it. Because the event is taking place online, attendance will be limited. We will announce signs up to attend very soon: Be on the look out for a sign up form in the next week or so. More details soon.

A heartfelt thanks from BayCon to everyone who presented and attended our Zoom mini-con earlier today. We had amazing panelists and performers–a great time had by all.Thanks to Juliet Wade, Deborah J Ross, M Todd Gallowglas, Thaddeus Howze, Mark Gelineau, Carrie Sessarego, Leslie Light, Wanda Kurtcu, Maya and Jeff Bohnhoff, Gayle Roberts from Larkin Street Youth, and Community Guest of Honor Jean Batt.

BayCon 2020 Zoom Mini-Con Tomorrow!

Tomorrow is BayCon 2020’s virtual mini-con and we still have sign-up spots available! It will be hosted on Zoom.

The event begins at 11:00 AM with Cory Doctorow giving us a preview of his upcoming novel Attack Surface, set in the same world as Little Brother and Homeland. You won’t want to miss it!

We’ll also have a couple of panels, including an appearance by our Artist Guest of Honor Galen Dara, and a performance by Kristoph and Margaret Klover.

Join us on Saturday for a virtual mini-con!

What are YOU doing with your Saturday?

You didn’t think we’d forget Memorial Day Weekend, did you? Although our convention is still postponed, our programming ninjas have nevertheless managed to pull off a most stunning event. BayCon is hosting a half-day virtual mini-con this Saturday with confirmed Guests of Honor, panelists, and performers.

11AM Saturday, May 23rd, we will be hosting a live ZOOM conference.

Our tentative schedule (subject to change):

11:00 AM: Opening

11:15: Future of the Comics Industry – Steve Mix and Derek McCaw

11:45: M Todd Gallowglas Is Entertaining

12:15: Concert from Kristoph and Margaret

12:45: Cory Doctorow reading

1:15: Art in the Time of Quarantine – Galen Dara and Amy-Elyse Neer

1:45: Enjoying Stories From the Other POV – Wanda Kurtcu, Heidi Stauffer and Yvonne WhiteDue to Zoom restrictions, space is limited, so at this time we are giving sign-up priority to pre-registered BayCon members, guests, paid vendors, and staff. If you are interested in watching this live, make sure to sign up ASAP. (If you have not yet registered for BayCon 2020, you can still fill out the form. If we end up having room, you will be sent an invite.)
