The recent deaths of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor have again brought into focus the stark reality that our country still has a real problem with racism, police violence, and bigotry in all forms. Protests around the country are sending a clear message that enough is enough: It is not sufficient any longer to express support and good will. Those persons and organizations who have the ability to foster substantial change should be obliged to do so.
To that end, BayCon wants our members to know that we are committed to extending our outreach to marginalized communities and groups. We are taking proactive steps to include and amplify the voices of all persons of color. We recognize that BayCon over its many years has not always been successful at representing these values but we are always striving to improve.
