The staff of the BayCon 2017 art show are pleased to announce two new categories for new artists displaying their artistic and creative talents.
- The category of Youth Artist is for aspiring young artists, ages 12 through 17 years, to encourage participation and display of the talents of younger artists exploring their creativity.
The category of Student Artist is for aspiring young artists, ages 18 through 23 years, enrolled at either a professional art school or one of California’s public or private colleges or universities with a recognized art program.
Conditions and Requirements
All persons wanting to display art in the BayCon 2017 Art Show under the category of Youth Artist must submit a signed parental consent form and be members of BayCon 2017 (either attending members or supporting members). Additionally, Youth Artists must use the custom info sheets.
There will be no fee required for display, but space will be limited and filled on a first-come, first-served, basis. Youth Artists will be limited to no more than three (3) pieces, any one of which may not exceed more 17”x11” in size, and must be clearly marked with the artist’s name (please check the website for the parental consent forms as well as the modified bid-sheets).
The art displayed by Youth Artists will NOT be sold via the BayCon 2017 art show (either by direct sale or auction), but the BayCon 2017 art show encourages Youth Artists to provide a method of contact, so that any interested parties may contact the artist and/or their families to arrange any possible art purchases.
All persons want to display art in the BayCon 2017 Art Show under the category of Student Artist must submit a signed form verifying their enrollment in either a professional school of Art or a public or private college or University with a recognized art program.
There will be a reduced fee ($10 per panel or table space), but space will be limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Student Artists will be limited to a single (4’x4’) panel or table (4’x3’) display and all pieces must be accompanied by bid-sheets and an artist control-sheet.
The art displayed by Student Artists may be sold via the BayCon 2017 art show (either by direct sale or auction), and BayCon will collect a reduced commission (10%) as well as State and Local taxes. The BayCon 2017 art show encourages Student Artists to provide a method of contact, so that any interested parties may contact the artist to arrange any possible art purchases.
