Guests of Honor
Writer Guest of Honor
BayCon is excited to announce legendary fantasy author Tamora Pierce as our Writer Guest of Honor for 2018!
Tamora Pierce is known widely for her works of fantasy fiction that depict young heroines. In 2013, she received the Margaret A. Edwards award from the American Library Association for her Song of the Lioness and Protector of the Small quartets. She also won the 2005 Skylark Edward E. Smith Memorial Award for Imaginative Fiction.
Pierce’s short stories and other works have also been featured in numerous anthologies, comics and essay collections. Tamora’s next book, Tortall: A Spy’s Guide, is due out in October 2017.
Born in Pennsylvania, Tamora spent much of her childhood in the San Francisco Bay Area. She now lives in Syracuse, New York with her husband Tim Liebe, and four cats.
Artist Guest of Honor
BayCon 2018 is extremely pleased to announce our Artist Guest of Honor: Margaret Organ-Kean.
Margaret is a veteran artist of the science fiction convention circuit. She has had her art featured in Fantasy Magazine, Cricket Magazine, and numerous art shows and art fairs.

Fan Guest of Honor
BayCon 2018 is extremely pleased to announce that two-time Hugo Award winner Christopher J Garcia has accepted our invitation to be Fan Guest of Honor in May. Chris has been active in SF Bay Area fandom for many years and is a former Guest and staff member of multiple BayCons.
Christopher J Garcia is a writer, fanzine editor, curator, filmmaker, and historian from Boulder Creek, California. He won the Hugo for Best Fanzine in 2011 for co–editing The Drink Tank and in 2015 for Journey Planet. He’s made short films, produced documentaries, programmed film festivals, and edits the film journal Klaus at Gunpoint as well as Journey Planet. He makes a living as a Curator at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA.
M. Todd Gallowglas is actually a six-foot-five, two-hundred-sixty-seven pound Samoan man who is the sixth cousin, twice removed of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, capable of giving a body slam and dropping an elbow like you wouldn’t believe. Unfortunately, that is the sum totality of his wrestling skills. For the past thirty-five years, he has affected (for reasons of certain conflicts of interest to the WWE and restraining orders by wrestlers who cannot be named – as a term of said restraining orders) the appearance and demeanor of a five-foot-ten-and-three-quarters white guy from Northern California with delusions of being an Irish guy. Todd currently resides on the Isle of Man where he breeds capybara. You can trust a face like this, right?
