BayCon 2006

The San Francisco Bay Area Regional
Science Fiction & Fantasy Convention

BayCon 2006 Gaming

Have some time to kill between events? Want something to do to keep from going nuts while waiting for that party you look forward to every year to get rolling? Need something to unwind with after a particularly challenging panel? Then Gaming may just be your answer!

The loaner game program will be in full effect again this year. We will have an assortment of card games, board games and whatever else we can turn into a game available. For those of you that prefer your games a little more animated, we are busting out the game consoles (PS2s and X-Boxes), and These will also be available for the use of our convention participants.

Here is a partial list of things that will be going on in the Gaming rooms. Please check the newsletter or our whiteboard for additional events, and come and join us in the fun.

Friday:

4:00 pm: Munchkin Tournament

Strap on your Boots of Butt-Kicking, grab your Hammer of Kneecapping and come join our Munchkin Tournament. It's a card game which is a lot like role-playing games, but without all those unimportant bits like character development and plot. The goal is simple: kill monsters and take their stuff. Beginners encouraged, being a Munchkin isn't a skill, it's a state of mind. And remember: in the end, there can be only one (and they get all the loot)!

6:00pm: Talisman
Old school gamers will remember this one: Back in the day, a little company from England called "Games Workshop" actually produced games that didn't involve hundreds of dollars of miniatures per player to play. Games like Chaos Marauders, Space Crusade, and the crown Jewel of their line Talisman! Come and take a trip down memory lane and play a little Talisman, The Magical Quest Game, with us. Our Illustrious Head of Gaming has gotten his hands on a set of Talisman that has nearly all of the expansions (except Talisman Dragons), and has been itching for a game ever since.

Saturday:

10:00 am: Warhammer 40k Return to Ossuary Prime Mega Battle
